| Bee Bee Developments has secured outline and detailed planning permission for a significant expansion of the Corby Euro Hub that will see the creation of 3,500 new jobs in the area over the next 15 years. The project, which will see some 240 acres of land to the south west of the town being redeveloped into a world class freight terminal, means that Corby will be at the forefront of the UK's drive to get freight off the roads and onto the rail system as a key part of the Government's green agenda. Chief Executive of Corby Borough Council Chris Mallender said: “This expanded Euro Hub will be an asset not just for Corby but for the region as a whole. The expansion includes a state of the art logistics skills academy which means the development of higher skills levels, increased competitiveness and the prospect of better paid long term jobs for the Borough. It is a high quality and eco friendly development which will deliver an enhanced area of accessible woodland for local people to enjoy as well as being part of a significant drive to get lorries off the road. It is a ‘win win' development as far as we are concerned: It's good for the economy of Corby now, and will be fantastic for the growing and revitalised economy of Corby in the future.” ![]() |
